The ‘Reservations’ function will take you through a quick, user-friendly online booking system. You will be able to check room availability and make your booking. You will receive an email confirmation on completion of your booking, including a reservation number.
Cancellations (for bookings made on this site) can be made online too.
Guaranteed Reservations and Deposits
All reservations made through the website must be guaranteed to one of the following; MasterCard, VISA (debit or credit), Maestro, American Express. Payments can also be made by bank transfer. Advance payment of the first night, or the total B&B cost is required at the time of booking.
Cancellations must be received within the cancellation policy indicated on the reservation. Payments for advance purchase rates are not refundable in the event of amendment, cancellation or no-show. Guests are advised to take out travel insurance against cancellation.
Credit Card Safety
We are committed to keeping your personal information safe. Online reservations are made through our secure server software (SSL), which encrypts all of your personal information so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.
The following methods of payment are accepted;
Cash in GBP or EUR, MasterCard, VISA (debit or credit), Maestro, American Express, Bank transfer (Cleared funds must be received prior to the date of arrival. You are responsible for any bank fees or charges. Any unpaid charges will be due on arrival.)
Early Arrivals and Late Departures
If your arrival is early in the day and you prefer immediate access to your room before the usual check-in time of 2pm, we recommend reserving for the prior night to guarantee immediate access to the room. Similarly, for late departures, reserving an additional night will guarantee the room beyond the usual check-out time of 11am. If you choose not to reserve, we will be happy to store your luggage for you.
Infants under 3 years of age are not permitted. Children over 3 years of age must be advised of at the time of booking so we can accommodate you in the best way possible.
Occupancy for our guest rooms is fixed at the time of booking. The hotel will manage any additional guests who would exceed the room’s maximum occupancy. We reserve the right to transfer you to alternative accommodation within our hotel, add a supplement to your bill, or make any decisions we deem necessary in the given circumstances.
Specific rooms cannot be guaranteed, though we always endeavor to meet all guest requests where possible.
The Windermere is a smoke-free zone; smoking is not permitted on the premises. Guests who do not comply will be fined a GBP 250.00 penalty, in compliance with UK law (2007).
Any keys not returned on check-out will incur a penalty charge of GBP 200.00.
Damage to Hotel Property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the hotel’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit/debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will however make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
Removal of Hotel Property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises without consent. The charge will be the full replacement amount of the missing item, including any carriage charges.
CCTV is in operation in the public areas of The Windermere at all times. This activity is carried out for security for all our guests and staff.
