The Health and Safety of our guests and staff are our top priority and we have put in place robust and stringent procedures throughout our hotel, which we have outlined further below.
We have also introduced new flexible cancellation policies to give you confidence in booking your stay with us. The best rate will always be available directly with us, either on our website, by email or on the telephone. We’re also offering a special 'Welcome Back Discount' to those who book directly on our website.
The entire team at The Windermere has been fully instructed and trained on our new procedures.
We have strict hand washing and hygiene procedures in place and we have drawn up a COVID-19 prevention plan to ensure we protect our guests and staff.
We are fully stocked with all relevant cleaning materials and disinfection products, in addition to our standard essential hygiene supplies. For example, additional sanitizers have been placed in our public areas for our guests and staff to use frequently.
We are temporarily stopping the self-service element of our breakfast buffet, and any other ‘open’ food service. We are offering table or room service only, with required social distancing measures in place.
All our staff are being provided with personal protective equipment.
We have invested in technology to allow us to carry out a fully contactless check-in and check-out procedure for our guests who wish to limit any direct contact with staff and other guests.
We have changed our traditional locks, moving to key cards and digital keys to mitigate the risk of spreading the virus.
We will be checking temperatures of our staff on arrival into our hotel.
In addition to our normal cleaning procedures, our public areas, main entrance, reception, door handles, counter tops, tables, handrails, lift buttons and other key touch points are being sanitized and disinfected frequently at regular intervals throughout the day.
Our housekeepers continue to clean our guest rooms to a high standard, and an additional set of checks have been introduced to ensure particular attention is paid to all touch points.
All our rooms, food preparation areas and public spaces are sanitised using a fogging machine conforming to British standards BS EN 14476 - BS EN 1276 - BS EN 13697.
Housekeeping will be available on request only, guests will be required to vacate their room and ventilate prior to housekeeping staff entering.
Luggage handling will be modified to promote the safety of our guests and team members.
We have removed non-essential items to minimise any contamination risk.
Our prevention measures will be reviewed regularly and updated in line with any changes to government guidance.
If in the unfortunate case, you have any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste and smell, we ask that you contact us, and allow us to reschedule your stay.
It is important to note, that for the safety of our guests and the safety of our team, that any guests displaying symptoms consistent with COVID-19 will be requested to seek medical attention. Should you be advised to self-isolate, we will request that you check out immediately and return home. You will be refunded the balance of your stay.

Our doors have been open for over 30 years, and we have always prided ourselves on the warm, and personal welcome we try to give to our guests.
